Cardiology (ICC), Asian Pacific Society of Nuclear
Cardiology (APSNC), Singapore & Society of Nuclear Medicine
India (SNMI) staged this mega event from 13th – 15th
November’09 at hotel Taj President, Mumbai. The conference
theme was decided as Nuclear Cardiology – as leading
cardiovascular imaging modality. It is second time Mumbai
got unique opportunity to host this prestigious conference
of Nuclear Cardiological Society of India.
Prof. Dr. G. N. Mahapatra, Chairman of 7th Biennial
Conference of Nuclear Cardiological Society of India &
President, Nuclear Cardiological Society of India, welcome
all the dignitaries & fellow delegates on the desk & off the
desk including the galaxy of international speakers across
the globe. In his lecture he pointed out that the scientific
programme had been designed to gain valuable professional
skills, network with experts in the field, discover new
technologies & learn about the latest in the
radiopharmaceutical for better diagnosis & treatment care of
our cardiac patients suffering from dreadful Coronary Artery
Disease. He also emphasized that the interactions were going
to happen on a common platform constituting Cardiologists,
Radiologists, Echocardiographers, Cardiothoracic Surgeons &
Nuclear Cardiology Physicians. He also informed the
scintillating cultural events going to happen during the
formal inauguration with the splendid opening ceremony at Y.
B. Chavan auditorium near Mantralay on 13th November’09
evening & also during grand gala dinner with Tune-7
orchestra nite & spectacular display of fireworks at US

expressed his deep gratitude to several pharmaceutical
houses & distributor of national & international companies
for their generous support in organizing this conference. He
wished all the delegates across the country a very
comfortable stay in Mumbai & he hoped that this 7th Biennial
Conference in Nuclear Cardiology would prove to be a meeting
of learning new techniques, recent advances in Nuclear
Cardiology, Radiology, Clinical Cardiology & Interventional
procedures such as Angioplasty & CABG Surgery.
Prof. Dr. M. J. Gandhi, Senior Consultant Cardiologist &
Chairman of scientific committee, in his address conveyed
that he & his colleague Dr. P. C. Manoria have tried their
best to prepare a scintillating scientific programme in
Clinical Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, Radiology & other
related fields. The programme on Nuclear Cardiology has been
contributed by Dr. Diwakar Jain, Director, Nuclear
Cardiology, from Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA & Dr.
Arun Malhotra, Prof. & Head Dept. of Nuclear Medicine of
AIIMS, New Delhi, with active participation from foreign
delegates. He expressed that this scientific programme is a
melting pot for the Nuclear Physicians, Radiologists,
Clinical & Interventional Cardiologists, Cardiac Surgeons &
General Physicians. This churning with different disciplines
will bring into focus the problems faced by us all in the
management of our patients. It will provide an unique
opportunity to all of us to discuss our problems with
experts in different specialities. At times there is
confusion in mind of a practicing physician, when one vital
piece of information is available by different tests done by
different specialities, what should be done & who should be
believed? We have tried to put all these specialities on one
table to plead their case. In many of our recent meetings,
there is hardly anytime for participation by the delegates.
In many of our sessions, we have left enough time for
discussion & questions after all the importance of any
contribution by the speaker are judged by the questions, it
creates. The programme is full of ‘state of the art’
presentations, guest lectures, symposia, debates & free
papers. We hope that we will come up to your expectations &
needs.
Dr. Mrs. Mrudula A. Phadke, Vice Chancellor. Maharashtra
